Poland (2022)

I visited Kraków for the first time in 2019, and decided to move there in 2022. I lived in various apartments near the medieval centre, at a time when the pandemic was still lingering, and the devastating war with neighbouring Ukraine began to escalate. I watched the atmosphere morph and change in response, with soldiers in military fatigues in the street mingling incongruously with masked civilians and people fleeing the conflict, all against the otherworldly backdrop of beautiful thirteenth-century buildings.

It is a city for which I still have a lot of warmth, even after moving away, and some photographs from my time living there can be viewed below.
